The Persistent Painter

A beautiful morning to paint a wonderous world!
The painter steps out from behind their slumbering lids
Carrying paints, pencils and pieces of positive perspective
begins not to splatter, but rather to gently grace
the space with colors and...

Pieces of Me

Pieces of Me

Pieces of me on sheets of wax paper
Tied tight with twine to catch all the drippings
An arm and a leg won’t keep till Friday
My heart’s in your hands
My blood’s on the floor

Pieces of me just two for a dollar

Days Off

Days Off

On his days off he puts himself down
with a bottle of gin
He drinks warm from the neck down
into his furnace of a belly
His veins on fire
A day or two later leaves him shaking, sweating

Argyle the Arsonist

Argyle the Arsonist

Like the phoenix he wished to rise from the ash,
A new beginning, a new partner a new start!

My Robot Body

My Robot Body

Sometimes I find my body hurts
My back, my feet, my knees
I wipe my mouth a bloody rag
And hope nobody sees

My flesh may peel, and meat may rot
But I swear, one day, I’ll be a robot

I’ll have rocket feet to propel myself

I was reading this with some funky Jazz playing on youtube. I had a nice time, I felt like as the reader I was pulling ahead and falling behind, slowing starting really making a run for it! Very nice work.

All time favorite! What an amazing piece of work. Poe's short stories and poems were such a welcome break from the mainstream teachings in school, my friends and I based two school film projects on Poe!
