Robin Styles Oliver is the poet of his wiser meaning for kindness and war. This preview of his upcoming collection is written for the ardent communication of such; wherefore arises their unity for purpose, meaning and truth or lack. He is passionate for all things in life that evoke our sense of wonder. With careful acumen, he chronicles how existence knows us from the perspective of choice for the individual. This frames entirely a philosophy of bold. Oliver grew up in Chicagoland in a typical family which prioritized education, and he was always strong in his talent of the written word. This matured with much refinement following his years studying in college. He is a strict vegetarian, shrewdly a student of the historical, and an avid reader of tarot cards.

Created of Vision

The Child I was;
the Man, I am—
the Woman I knew. When,
and there was you
I founded then.

Reach and I grow—
manage, and I learn.
Believe, and wonder I am
when to transform;
I choose why strength.

I go freely wise
song would break for;...

Tithe for Yours

I knew once another way forward that is not
talked about anymore—why this should be,
it should not is when, and it was lost at sure
to forgotten to the effect that we no longer
require of ourselves what we were except
in memory of what was else...

Imagined to be Freer

I gleamed all along the emerald path—I knew then
everything would change, and I would discover
how it had been when I stopped to renew my oath
in denial of how all knew first that it would not
ever be the same tide pushing against the sand

Making of Wild

There was once a way to live when a person could give
themselves everything and keep nothing, and those
you chose would choose you for that instead of else.
Tomorrow, I might have died if not for then.
Yesterday was because of the same, and...

Known for Candor

There is one life to realize every lost way to be,
I was once told by a man from when this was
not yet the case, and then where that cannot be
any longer you are found in where you left yourself
to know differently until it cannot believe itself...

Simply beautiful. This is one to keep out on the desk and look back upon, in my opinion. You've hit every criterion here for a poem that makes your writing stronger, and that's the best kind at all.

This longing poem seems like a double entendre--the piece itself is asking to be more, and it dies perfectly where it lands. I can't say I see this achieved, in general. Well done, here, and I hope you focus on what works that way to do it again. I'd love to see another like this.

This poem makes me think of what is strength when there isn't hope. Evocative, powerful, and enchanting at once. Great work here. I would focus on more like it with the same imagery and the same verbiage.

The subject really illumines how tearful and beautiful the message. This poem is sublime, and I urge you to keep developing more language along this theme. Great work!

This is a perfect poem! Unashamed is a word that comes to mind, and on the other side of that coin is to be proud of who I've become. This unites two perspectives handily in a relatable path of considering life that is purely understood. The language is remarkable and doesn't require imagery--the reader has that already and that tells me that you're aware you have a gem, here.

Excessive in no way, and that is a perfect gauge that this poem is on its way to where you feel deepest. My personal opinion is that the language is still in development--it feels more familiar when you draw out the substance over the narrative illustratively. Focus on imagery. You have a great story and there are always going to be a few ways to tell it: this is the broad, and then there can be the essence.

This is something I should revisit in a month or so. I see how this factors into the way we see poetry now, and I wonder if I might grow along some of the same lines.
