tonight, in the garden of dead things

there's a darkness growing
in the garden where we planted our dreams.
it feeds on forgotten prayers & the bones
of dead stars

when did the blood red moon
start looking like an exit wound
in the sky?
when did we learn to mistake
birdsong...
