Ever Green

One girl had shown to me,
that when the heart is honest,
a body can never lie.

In my insensibility, my
heart deserted me.

I had lost my voice
and her sound left no signal to follow.
I was hushed by shame in mother nature.

Though I...

Music of Love and Longing

I can't tell how I smile. To every thing I write a song.

Maybe in the balance I'll cry the less when I miss you.

To bring a lifting note to my ever-brooding heart.

When you talk softly to me
through the currents in the air,
tell me why...

Take The Lookout, It's a Fact.

There's a whole world out there looking in,
that wants you looking back!

Know your means and know your ends.
Know from where your hope descends.
Know upon whom life depends.
Know YOURSELF and know your...

I mean both. I was joking partly about what you printed about being drunk on poetry but also saying that I have some poems on the serious side that I've been reticent to post.

You're right. It's really about the cycles of life we live and like Karl said, to express the importance of living for the day rather than in the past or counting too much on the future. Things tend to revolve and repeat over and over, and we can forget, we're only active and alive right now at any time in our lives. This is a theme I've addressed before in my poetry, that I've picked up along the way from teachers. While I was writing that, I didn't realize right away exactly what I was trying to say, and it became clearer as I continued. I think that's because, in my intuition I was aware, because this is an idea I've dwelled on and dealt with many times in my own life, and it's that all of my impressions are stored away like a program in there. It seemed vague though to me, although I remembered from art appreciation and talks with other artists, that one of the things this kind of expression does, is say things under the obvious, that we pick up deeply inside. Our inner minds sometimes know way ahead of what our foreconscious minds are able to reason out at first and translate into cogent, practical forms, and sometimes we get puzzled about how to communicate between intuition and logic. Thanks for your comment, and Karl too. That helped me feel more secure about my poem, that other people may not find it too thinly stated.
