Hi. I'm a well over 60 retired lady of leisure and have been writing poetry and songs (play a little guitar and piano too) since my teens. I've never published or entered a poetry contest, but now I think I'll join you good people.

Michael, I've been writing poetry for over 50 years, though never published. I'd like to think I am a good judge of what is good poetry. I think your poem is VERY GOOD. There is no question what your subject is and how it is presented. It flows really well. Nice read!
