The poem Abiku draws its name from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria. This poem simply talks about the Abiku child and it’s nature of death how death is bound to an Abiku child and how no matter how much is given to the Abiku child or done for it the Abiku child dead is cursed upon the child and in the end the child ends up dead

Abiku is a poem that draws its name from the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria. Abiku is used to refer to a child who is born then dies almost immediately after. This child reincarnates carrying a scar to remind it of his past life. The poem talks about death of the Abiku child and it’s cursed nature saying that even gold and silver will not make such child stay. According to the poem an Abiku child is always bound to die
