I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. After graduation from high school, in 1969, I enlisted in the Marine Corps. I'm a combat veteran having served in Vietnam with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines and the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines (1970-1971). I retired from the U.S. Army 1991 and also retired from the Riverside County (California) Sheriff's Department in 2011. I've been married over 49 years and am currently a resident of Ormoc City in the Philippines. I'm the father of 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I possess an associates degree from Riverside City College and a bachelors degree from California State University, San Bernardino. For the sake of my poetry I've been writing for many years and I attempt to write rhyme (almost exclusively).
