I am a poet from Japan. Did you know that Japan has a wonderful poetic culture? It's called "Sonezaki Shinju" (The Love Suicides) from Bunraku (Ningyo Joruri), one of the most beautiful poetic works in the world by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. I was strongly inspired by him and started writing poetry. I have been writing poetry in Japanese ever since, but eventually I became fascinated with English. I began to feel the pleasure of writing poetry in English. Unfortunately, Japanese poetry is currently in a state of disuse. It is not interesting. However, English poetry has inherited its history with its beautiful phonetics and characters. Today, there are many young people in Japan who do not know Chikamatsu. And it is difficult to find poetry books in Japanese bookstores. Here, it seems that there are people who love foreign poetry equally. I'm looking forward to it. If my poems are ever published, please let me know.
