I fear for the future;

There is so much effort needed in believing.

The bones of broken trust scream out in agony.

There goes another brother,

Another sister,

Lost to the seductive and toxic addiction to hate,

The street too bright to see the sky
The sounds of Man blare around me
Tepid air steams in with no wind to guide it
Cars zoom by
Youth cheer drunkenly
The refrigerator hums
The temperature too hot
This was home

I was younger then
Eyes wide with wonder
Hyped up and bushy tailed
I look at my younger self
With disdain
Spitting on what I was once proud of
In the corner of the attic of my interest
Sits the remnants of my life back then
