Born and raised on on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio, I had been interested in poetry and literature from a rather young age. Lyrics and musical melodies have been bestowed upon me during many a creative bursts, and varying levels of quality poems and songs have been made, conveyed and displayed over time. I can say there is a definite role-play/playful aspect to my poetic style.

Opportunity's Knocking

1st verse:
Meandering through the forest to the rendezvous,
But first we grab a leaf to sip the morning dew!
A taste of freshness gets the interest rising for the day;
we're breathing out and in, soaking sun rays!

A Journey to behold awaits...

These "Nows" Present

Marigold, magenta, and many marvelous hues
very boldly blend and imbue the farewell.
One last warm embrace and our main light leaves view;
Ruminating of future forebears to foretell.

We shall sleep and dream of a brilliant tomorrow,
but...

Overcoming the woe

He had wandered for hours, alone and confused,
Yet all-the-while consciously there.
Each theory of "Why all this mental abuse?"
All considered and handled with care.

The first being rumors from others that spread,
with motives to tarnish and...

Nestle Does my Bedtime Bird

Imagining a vantage through sentimental memories;
A "personified natural construct" analogy
of resting and waving amidst a swaying canopy,
on a sturdy branch of undisturbed, mature...

There is quite a wonderful storytelling dynamic that this poet had implemented, and the rhyme scheme, to me, was in appropriately good taste. Certainly thought-provoking, where one may relate to the material. The rhythm was acceptable, yet I feel not fully polished. All-in-all, I narrowed down 126 poems to around 40 pinned ones, and then I was left finally after deep consideration with "One Heart, One Soul, Too Much" (which to me is rather hopeful and reminiscent of the poem "Don't Quit") and this poem. This one has my vote.

"The Poem Comment" (Just now)

A plethora of wonderful, entrancing selections
intriguing each reader while evoking emotions;
Delving into each realm of inflections;
Experiencing whirlwinds of literary devotion;

Candidates of praise, and yet all worthy,
of acknowledgement and a fair shake;
These weaved expressions, slender or girthy,
deserve every consideration to take.

Some will tantalize, others, inspire
whether read-into, sifted-though, or skimmed.
But Alas! Each of us has that one we admire,
The work of art we believe should win.

I wanted to offer something creative which winding down tonight. Good luck to all participants!
