2024/03/04 ~ In the Darkness

In darkness deep, where shadows play,
Depression's talons seize their prey.
Beneath the waves, I'm dragged below,
A suffocating undertow.

With every gasp, I fight in vain,
As sorrow's grip tightens the chain.
The weight of despair, a heavy...

2024/03/04 ~ Flickers of Hope

Still, a glimmer of hope remains,
A flicker of light midst desolate plains.
Though waves crash down, and darkness looms,
I'll rise again, from these watery tombs.

In the darkness, a faint glimmer gleams,
A ray of hope amidst despair's...

The key to her heart
Is through a vine of wild flowers.
Wild, free, never apart:
Yet locked away like a princess in a tower.

Climb the trellis,
Hold steady lest ye should slip and fall.
Everything's amiss
Til the dove of morn decides to...

In eyes of blue, a turquoise gleam,
The room aglow, as if I were in a dream.
With every glance, my heart takes flight,

Each...

Its getting cold inside.
I almost can't see the fading light.
The waves are churning
Trying to mend what's broken, hurting.
Few see that I'm drowning,
They think that from the ashes is a...

I’m a young woman who has learned not to cry much for fear of it being seen as a weakness , one who has been known to go for 6 months or longer without shedding a single tear. However, in reading the simplicity and raw emotion of this poem, i have been brought to tears.

Not only is it relatable, but it becomes personal. I’ve suffered much abuse at the hands of those who were supposed to care for me, supposed to love me.

Three years after I won and escaped, I still struggle like hell to forgive them for taking my innocence, for the abuse suffered at their hands. But you have put into words that which I wish I could do. Forgive them every passing day, no matter what they did in years gone by.

Beautiful, well written. I love poems, more so writing than reading them. However, I’m glad I read this one today.
