Threats, Acts, Consequences

Threats, acts, consequences,
They all affect a person.
You won’t know it does,
Until you’re in their shoes.
Getting bullied, having the issues.
At home or at school,
We need to be careful,
Because we never know…
What people could be going...

Hurting Trying to Forget.

The attempt to forget you
hasn't been easy for me.
The love we shared...
like stars in the sky
it was everywhere.
We still converse
every now and then,
but it still hurts me.
To think you could love
someone else...
and not me like you...

Are You Really OK?

Ask me how I'm doin', I say "okay"
Yeah, but ain't that what we all say?
Living life with a smile on our faces,
But in reality, some of us are dying.
Forgive me, but please see the truth.
I’ve been through it myself…
And it’s hard to ask for...

Inspiration Peak

Treetops cower over the valley.
Sunlight glistening,
winter slowly arriving.
Falling leaves of the autumnal season,
turning several colors,
the coldness is abruptly coming.
Forty-degree temperatures,
but only until ten in the morning.
Warm seventies...

Pride Over Love

Just because
I let my pride show,
doesn't mean
I don't love you anymore.
You were my everything,
and with everything,
much more than just that.
I still care about you,
even if I seem untouchable.
I would let you in so quickly,
even though,
I already...

Moving On

We pass each other,
quite frequently.
Hallways,
football games,
on the road.
You still,
somehow,
are able to smile at me.
You gently wave,
as if nothing happened.
Forever and ever,
until the end.
We made a promise,
and we broke it...
but yet still...

shame

Why must you shame me?
According to you,
I'm stupid,
useless,
a $***.
Yet, I don't shame you?
How does that work?
How do you think
that makes me feel?
I bet it makes you feel...
Powerful,
graceful,
better about yourself,
that you broke my heart-...

shattered

When I received your text,
my heart fell to the floor.
Shattering like glass,
I knew I'd been here before.

It's different this time,
I loved the boy so much.
How he held my hand,
with a soft, gentle...

Obsession and Love

Obsession and Love.
Both are in life,
whether it's an object,
a husband, or a wife.
Maybe it's someone else.
Possibly, someone you like,
but you can forget them,
as fast as you can ride a...

Day After Day

I sit and watch the night sky,
as the angels sing a Whiskey Lullaby.
As soothing as it may seem,
you may not understand what I mean.
I watch her drink her pain away,
while her mind seems to decay.
The angels of hell gather her up,
all the while, she...

Frightened Cats and Mice

As darkness falls across the night,
Shrieks ring out, full of fright.
The young lady as what she’d be,
Saw what hung from the tree.
Her cat hanging on quite tight with its claws,
Struggling to keep from the jaws.
The neighbor’s dog was very close,...

2:36 am

2 am is for the poets who can’t sleep,
Because their minds are alive with words…
For people who are not there.

For the alcoholics, drinking themselves
Into amnesia to forget…
Someone who...
