Dear GOP

Dear GOP, the reason you love Trump is clear.
He is a bully as are you.
He says out loud what you were always afraid to say
for fear of backlash.
Yet, you also fear him as all bullies are cowards.
You kowtow to him because he’s a bigger bully.

Man

Man is a complex being.
He consists of good and evil.
He is full of hate and love.

Woman

I am a woman, intelligent, loving and forgiving.
I speak my mind when I feel I have to let the world
know where I stand.
You call me stupid, mean, nasty when I disagree with you.
You tell me I should know my place.
You seem to think my place is be...

Vows

As we renew our vows
I think about our life together.
I am thankful for our years
together and your love.
I gladly renew my love
as I look forward to our
future together as one.

Sinners All

A preacher tells me I should collect all earthly goods
and wealth.
Funny, I thought Jesus said to give up earthly goods
to follow him and be like him.

Snowflake

Floating down from the clouds,
floating gently to the ground.
Dancing and whirling in the air
before gently kissing the ground.

Persecution

Christians say they are persecuted.
They can’t pray in public school,
but they can pray where or whenever they want
 if they say it quietly.
According to them they can’t say Merry Christmas...

Found

I discovered I had a brother
and so the search began.
There was a mixture of feelings
happiness, nervousness, and anticipation.
As the years dragged on, at times
there was also, frustration.

Why?

A child is living with a family
and wonders how long she will stay.
Will it be a week or a month
before she’s pulled away?
She wonders what it would
be like to have a family.
Soon she’s in an orphanage,
waiting and hoping for a family.

Love 2

Love is blind.

It sees no colors, race, gender, or religion.

It is led by the heart.

May your heart lead your head always.

Hate

You look at me with disdain and hate.
I am not like you, I don’t look like you.
You judge me by the way I speak and dress.
You judge me by the color of my skin, my religion.
Yet you don’t know me, not really.
You won’t take the time to see what I’...

An Eagle Cried

I saw an eagle fly
  low in the sky.
  Eagles usually soar
high so I watched some more.
  I wondered why
I saw a tear in his eye.
  I think I know why,
because to our freedoms we’ve said good-bye.
  I ...

Lonely

It’s the longest we’ve been apart.
You’re very much in my heart.
I miss you so much.
I’d die for your touch.

It’s not easy, yet I know its
something I must do.
I can’t wait ‘til I am
back with you.

Anniversary

It’s a celebration of two people
joined as one.
It divides forever into tangible
time markers.
It’s a time to think about how lucky
you are to love and be loved.
It’s a special day when it’s super
important to say “ I Love You!!”

The Good Die Young

It seems to often good people die at a young age.
People who knew them are filled with sorrow and rage.
We wonder how God could take them
  from us in their prime.
Maybe God needs their help to
  watch over the world.

Cancer

Cancer is known as the silent killer.

It changes cells to start maliciously multiplying

to spread and kill other cells.

There are so many types of cancer,

  most remain undetected.

By the time the symptoms show, depending

Knights of Old

Ancient and noble knights
on their steeds of white.
Fighting for fame and glory,
few ever lived to tell their story

Heaven

Heaven is what each person
wants it to be .
Whatever would make that person
happiest.
People that you’d least expect may
get into heaven.
That’s why it’s not up to us to
judge other people.
For those who condemn other people
for their lifestyle ...

The Chosen

Once I was alone and unloved.
Then I was chosen by a loving family.
I grew up with love and a sense of
belonging.
I was happy yet not fully content.

Solitude

Sitting in a boat on quiet waters,
rod in hand.
All is silent as no one is
around for miles.
Thus am I here in blissful
solitude.
Suddenly I feel a tug on the
line and solitude disappears
as I reel in a fish.
hell, I can have solitude any
time, I...

Mom and Dad

My birth mother gave me life and
loved me enough to give me up,
but she could never be my Mom.
My birth father was there for my
conception, but that does not make him
my Dad.

Tomboys Have More Fun

Tomboys love to climb trees.
They usually end up with dirty knees.
They enjoy fishing and bait their own
hook.
They find it more fun than learning
to cook.

2 Masters

Conservatives and Evangelicals say that they are Christians.
Yet, they insist that we must reopen the economy during
this pandemic even if people must die for the economy.
They care more about money than they do about human lives.
They insist that...

who loved to play her harmonica.
She played all night
‘Til the dawn’s early light.

Friends

There are two types of friends.
One is the acquaintance, the
person you just say hello to on
the street.
The person you discuss war, politics,
and drugs with in passing.

Brotherhood

What is brotherhood?
It is loving your neighbor no
matter who he is.
Helping him even though you’re
not up to it.
Brotherhood is more than just
a word, it is LOVE IN ACTION

Greenwood

Learning of the massacre for the first time was a stark
reminder of the horrendous consequences of white man’s actions
fueled by envy, hatred and fear of not being superior to other races.
The century coverup this atrocity speaks volumes to the e...
