That Smell

That Smell

That smell you know
But can not place
It’s from your youth
A certain space

That smell you know
Is so familiar
Musty and cold
Like an old cellar

That smell you know
Brings you back
Crawling and exploring
But not the attic

I Saw The psychedelic Light

It came through in music
As well as in song
C’mon People Now
Let’s all get along

Love, Peace and Happiness
Was what we did preach
It was our Trinity ??
Our core belief

There was Dylan, Baez
And MLK
Apostles of peace
With something to say

Harvest Of Hate

Harvest Of Hate

Once said
A wee
Whisper
A mere
Seedling

Broadcast into
A harvest of hate
A bullhorn of bull

Once weeded out
But not eradicated

Muffled
But not
Silenced

The harvest is back
Verdant fields of lie’s
Grow wild among us

Natural Wonders

Natural Wonders

If there were an earthquake
We surely wouldn't know
Our Love’s so tremendous
We wouldn't feel the blow

If there were a twister
We wouldn't even sneeze
Love is our shelter
We'd only feel a breeze

Write This Way

Write This Way

I write
To get off
While
I Get on

I write
To juggle
The right
And
The wrong

I write
To reach out
As well
As dig in

The what’s?
The why’s?
The Who’s
The when’s

I write to
Express
Happiness
Sadness
Regret

No Words

No Words

At times I’m at
A loss for words

And so I write
Some things
I’ve heard

Things that
May
Or
May not
Be true
But who would care
Would I
Would you

It’s not like truth
Is all that they say

It could be last night
As well as today

Pondering Perches

Benches

Benches to sit
Benches to gaze
Benches to while
Good days away

Benches that sway
Benches that swing
Benches for playing
Songs that we’ll sing

Benches to feed
Benches to eat
Benches for resting
Our tender feet

One Day At A Time

One Day At A Time

I’m still alive
Though not intact
I strive and strive
To stay on track

I try, I fail
I try again
I need to heal
It never ends

The coarse was set
With little wind
My sails a net
It’s hard to win

Dianisn

Dianism

Love
Like religion
Was not here

Until
I met you
There wasn't
A prayer

Then
The day came
A miracle
Too
