Was fascinated years ago reading about this heroic Scottish Gospel hero who took to the hills preaching night time under the stars, dodging the King’s dragoons, almost as if by magic…Doug Blair

He is approaching the stage of the crinkled autumn leaves. Loves every image, as best he can. Wonders what he will leave behind. Thanks Steven…Douglas Blair. http://pastursgreen3.blogspot,com/

The huge potential of a hungry and creative heart, unselfishly opened up for opportunities of Grace, or of wicked oppression.

Yes I feel as if I am wandering mountain paths alongside Maligne Lake in Alberta. Jasper National Park. Inspired by Mary Shaffer, pioneer woman of Maligne @1902. And principal citizen of Banff, together with her guide turned Husband.

Harry Chapin, the narrative Champion of verse, was an early favourite. Also Gordon Lightfoot, Longfellow, Tennyson, R L Stevenson, Robert Service. Later in the narrative line came John Masefield… Douglas Blair

Excellent thoughts on the Pilgrim’s walk. Alluding to bits of scripture throughout. As Jude in his Letter exhorted, you have contended for the faith once delivered to the saints. Gospel poetry builds up. The epistles suggest both a building project and a war (as shown in the account of Nehemiah). Press on Brother. There will be more of worship and communing in the writing. A poet becomes a distinguished poet by simply writing more verses. In an atmosphere of Love, not of doubt or naysaying.

Needed respect for the ones differing, but still wanting the peace and contentment for their kids. Not so very different. Truly. Cut them space and salute as they wander off. Gypsies. Look into the biography of English Evangelist Gypsy Smith.

Shore waters shying back. An excellent image creating mood and nature routine, but what is the woman thinking, saying, doing. We are not told. Only expression is her beauty lasting but a moment…Douglas Blair

The refreshing, rambling, unexpected joy and ribbing of someone like poet Billy Collins comes to mind, as a fresh start for poets who truly love the craft, and desire to say something novel and incisive…Douglas Blair.

Why have you only written one piece on this site, thus far. You are robbing an expectant readership. Consider also creating your own blog or site. Very easy and intuitive. http://puffnchord7.blogspot.com/. Just copy and open link

Europe doesn’t have much place for Gypsies; much respect. How sad. We need to be impacted by the simplicity and conviction of their journeys. We have possessions and square footage and titles. But truly they all have us by the carotid artery…Douglas Blair…I agree Brian that this is a five star gem. Write more. Write lots more. The perseverance is fueled by love, and Love never fails. Here it is stunning to end up with the dust and blood. As a good poem it says much with little. Gets the four star. Caressing the wheat tenderly. I see in that, a moment of Russell Crowe in the movie Gladiator. Excellent experience, that film. Second only to Charlton Heston in Ben Hur 1959…Douglas Blair
