Have read it now. Somewhat unclear, but one message stands out…tyranny stamped. Someone else once called it the business of guilt management. I might add the word priestcraft. Painfully the assemblies say that they await the arrival of the Holy Spirit. But the professionals up front never allow two minutes of silence and waiting for input/dialogue from Above. They say that they love Jesus. They talk about other trendy junk. They hold bake sales and parking lot penny arcades. They should soak in the Four Gospels and Acts. And little else…Doug…. http://pastursgreen3.blogspot.com/

Before even I read the poem, I send this comment. You have been hurt by the hypocrisy and parrot like exchanges in the church. There is a mystical worldwide Body however. The sheep know the Master’s voice. They come to know the voice and direction of other sheep. It is crazy but it is engineered by the Holy Ghost. Do not confuse any bricks and mortar gathering with the kind approachability of the Good Shepherd, True Vine, High Priest, Light of the World, Rescuing, Best Elder Brother. JESUS. Read again Matthew chapter eleven. Steve thank you for your candour and your query. Not to be disheartened. I will pray. Yeah really. I will pray…Douglas Blair

Jesus visited many strange homes. Raising eyebrows. A Prophet going to THAT place? Yes He would, and for redeeming purposes…Doug

A nice biographical look of appreciation. Everyone seems to go for the daffodils. Consider also Upon Westminster Bridge…Douglas Blair.

So you were flat on your back looking up. Good posture for taking a look at Heaven. So far distant from your situation? Nope. Rather undergirding your situation. In Acts chapter 27 the sailors use ropes called helps to wrap around and under the wooden hull in a terrific storm. Holds it together. One of the names applied to the Holy Spirit is the Helper..Douglas Blair…you must contribute some more poems.

Must have a nice relationship going on. Many people who love touring the Bible will omit reading Song of Solomon. As. If God could not identify and approve. When he fashioned Eve, the man Adam was heard to say Cowabunga!

Really catches the attention and provides lots of laughs. Building up a tension slowly. Then we find that the host is similarly horny…Douglas Blair

You speak of singular originality in experience or expression. But your title takes us nowhere. Don’t say that you won’t be hemmed in by convention. A sharp jab of purposeful words needs a setting up with title…Douglas Blair

So many of our problems are launched in fear. In the great Biblical tale of Job the suffering man is attacked by Satan in his estate, wealth, livestock, children, servants, health, dignity, appearance. Only his wife and life are spared. God is gambling on Job’s fidelity. Most righteous of followers in faith, Job’s focal comment is important to hear and to understand: THAT WHICH I FEARED IS COME UPON ME. He repents of self righteousness. His recovery in every area is double portion. Probably the oldest Bible book. Excellent literature. I enjoyed reading the translation by Scotsman James Moffat…Douglas Blair

If I am to read the film accounts correctly, or the writings of wife Mary Shelley, Percy was a womanizer, godless, shiftless with money, dishonest. Something far outside his ken must have birthed Ozymandias and Ode to a Skylark…Douglas Blair…note that Mary Shelley wrote the story Frankenstein.

Beautiful portrayal of the still, lonely, comforting. The rhythmic roll of your words is commendable. If you want to be a poet, then just keep turning out the stanzas from a thankful enquiring heart…Douglas Blair…do you sometimes get wakened from your sleep with compelling lines? That is God, the ultimate Artist-Creator. Go with Him in the thing.

I love Tiger, Tiger Burning Bright. Succinct description of the two beasts living within. Blakes sketchings on canvas show a mesmeric attraction, if not insanity…Douglas Blair

Perhaps Wordsworth’s best is Upon Westminster Bridge. A view of the great big city of London waking up beside the movements of the Thanes River. Could never read it enough. I think there is also a singular tribute to the Duke of Wellington, hero in the Battle of Waterloo against Napoleon..Douglas Blair..

Visited the Poe Museum in Richmond. Very sad atmosphere. A journalist dealing in daily soup, who so much wanted to display in literature the haunting or surprising turns in living. His sik abd declining wife in the next room.

Never forgot the one about the black house cat who got bricked up behind the makeshift wall hiding a corpse. Cops eventually heard the cat’s cries. Oops!

Walt had observant eyes for enlightening and strong hands for roughing it in the wild. Americans see much of the pioneer spirit. But let me remind that the pioneer spirit manifested large doses of trust in God (travel, safety, illness, harvest). Walt Whitman did NOT share that trust. A philosopher in the bush. Not a prophet or worshipper…Douglas Blair

Classic, striding simple lyrics given applause and proper credit. Reminds a bevy of poets about the good in our craft of sparse, beautiful words. Thanks Nobody.

Delightful words at play. Title at first hooks the Reader. BUT, BUT. Strictly follow the cadence, and triple check for spelling (then not than). Bad spelling upsets the apple cart of Art. Douglas Blair

Your self description is very helpful and suggestive. Spend more time in nature. Let the big mountain humble and adjust the small you.

Valid message about the treadmill of approval lusting. I find that the first stanza irritates with twenty dollar words that only alienate the reader. The remainder is good. Dumb down a bit and become more approachable…

If I abandon the podium…and let the heart give forth…with words so very childlike…but pointing to True North…I will render honest service…I will catch the ears of trust…yes dear poets in the bleachers…you inspire from common dust. (douglas blair).
