You're not confident

I am a nurse and a mother of three grown children. I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager. I love expressing myself on paper. I am a pastor's wife. We pastor a small church in Media, Pa. We are presently debating with a group of people on U-Tube who say that the world will end on May 21,…

So very proud
So afraid to try and fail
So resistant to face the scorn
Of what this life entails
To stand before your peers
To give them your point of view
To be out among the people
Takes all you can muster to do
Your limitations shame you
Til you push all help aside
And you're not confident
Of your ascend
You have no peace
You have lived a lie
You regret the decisions you made in your life
As you reap the rewards of your ways
You can make a change for the here and now
But you can't change how you lived yesterday
You lie on the bed of finality
You're preparing to meet your God
And you're not confident
Of your ascend
You have no peace
You have lived a lie
