Something For Nothing

Professor, therapist, author and poet.

Space is nothing for something
and that's something for nothing.
What's free can have quite a cost
where the price you pay is lost.
Taking love with no return
extinguishes hearts that burn.
Hand out food can put on weight
till you become heavy freight.
Reaping without planting seed
will an empty harvest breed.
Bargains lead to overload
till your closet shelves are bowed.
Receiving without giving
yields loneliness for living.
When there is equality
you'll find reciprocity.
Something for nothing is space
for nothing something to place.
