Larry Covington

Progression

Tippy-toed tripping
Tumble fall
Careless glances
Caught in casual stance
Among a crowd of faces
Lifted to the lights

Music playing
For the soul
Of listeners ears
Sounds meant for
Peaceful pleasure,
Strangers
Stirred and spun
Into a weave
Tapestry of fates.

Smiles passed out
To our future delight
As performers sweat
For patrons desire
We clashed together
Alone among many
Touching arms,
Hands,
Smiles,
Eyes,
Emotions.

Released from
Our box of wishes,
Freed
Yesterday a memory,
Tomorrow a thought
Today forever
Dancing strangers
Become friends,
Lovers.
