It Feels Like Ten Thousand Years

Professor, therapist, author and poet.

It feels like ten thousand years since I've known your grace.
Time is an erasure. Has it paled your face?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've caught your stand.
Time is a conductor. Has it played your band?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've read your lips.
Time is a pretender. Has it matched your quips?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've heard your choice.
Time is a dictator. Has it hushed your voice?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've watched your back.
Time is an arranger. Has it changed your track?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've shared your cues.
Time is a corrupter. Has it warped your views?

It feels like ten thousand years since I've joined your team.
Time is a destroyer. Has it killed your dream?
