Clipped Wings

Poetry sounds like snowflakes landing on spring flowers. I write, read and hear poems with my heart.

Clipped Wings

After lifelong wellness,
evading bites and stings,
heartiness is reversed when suffering clipped wings.

After lifelong comfort,
evading darts and slings,
all is helter-skelter when suffering clipped wings.

After lifelong safety,
evading slips and dings,
orbit is upside-down when suffering clipped wings.

After lifelong privilege,
evading counts and kings,
licensure is revoked when suffering clipped wings.

After lifelong freedom,
evading oaths and rings,
liberty is pell-mell when suffering clipped wings.

After lifelong soaring,
evading sprees and flings,
flight is topsy-turvy when suffering clipped wings.
