The guns are silent now.
The battle is over, with casualties on both sides,
Plain to be.
Difficulties there were, but neither could agree.
The guns are silent now.
A battle raging for years,
struggling on with the shedding of blood
and distraught with tears.
The guns are silent now.
Not wanting or yearning,
for now has begun a new dawn,
for learning.
The guns are silent now.
Sweet music of peace and calm.
Arduous times there were,
now is the time to let go and disarm.
The guns are silent now.
Inevitably,as distressing it is lonely and parted,
draw comfort from the fact, for the love of each other,
a new life has started.
