The Doe.

I live in Dorset in the U.K.I am inspired by nature and the countryside, especially the seasons, and the weather.I write about all sorts of topics and my poems are usually rhyming, haiku or free verse.

The Doe.

She stood rock still, staring straight back,

across an open field, of verdant green grass.

Russet brown, with her Doe- eyed fear,

her instinct to flee, would soon pass.

She did not flinch, poised ready,

silent, in the minutes, of a hot summers day.

Then suddenly she took off, like a gazelle,

full speed, streaking across, far away.
