James Elroy Flecker was an English poet, novelist and playwright. As a poet he was most influenced by the Parnassian poets.





We are dead by our living was great;
We are dumb but a song of our state
Will roam through the darkness and wait
With its burden of long long ago.
'Til a scholar from sea bright lands
Unearths from the years and the sands
An image with beautiful hands
And know what we want him to know.
