Serious

Am a teacher, a Fulani and a poet

Get a bit serious
as men can be mean sometimes
To deal with them you need a lot of courage
To understand me you get a lot of patience

Dear August friend
Know that this year
There will be no celebration
None can be certain
Nor is there any surety

How do you expect me to
Mend ways when you!
Threat my sleep with
Cold handy treatment
Both here and later too

All that I require
Is for this unfaithful fair
Behave in a more subtle
And easy mannerism
And decorum
