I started, and continued for many years, to write poems about life in general, just for my own enjoyment of putting the words down on paper. After a lot of poems had stacked up one day, I sat down and read them all. When I finished, I said to myself, "That didn't sound too bad." "I wonder if they could be published." So, I got online and found a publisher, contacted them, and they were interested in seeing what I had. And here I am today, entering a contest!
