I am a retired elementary school teacher who hates retirement. I decided to develop a new skillset and am taking writing classes at Marshall University. The daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece of coal miners, I have a deep respect for the men and women who are workers in the industry. I also honor what they do. I am married to a emeritus faculty member from West Virginia University of Technology, and we have a wonderful daughter who also teaches and two grandsons.
