Jolene Mary Eden Lansverk was born on April 8, 1979. She is the daughter of Richard and Sandy Lansverk of Benson, Minnesota. Jolene has always enjoyed writing, whether it be short stories, essays, or poetry. She started writing when she was about thirteen years old. Her very first poem was entitled “Goodbye”, dedicated to her late grandmother, Louise Weber. Ever since that day, Jolene has kept on writing. Of all the forms of writing that she does, Jolene appreciates poetry the best. She feels it’s one of the only ways in which she can express how she truly feels inside. Some of Jolene’s poems have been recognized and published in a few anthology books. “The River” along with “Thin Enough”, for example, have been published in The National Library of Poetry book, and “I Have These Two Friends” has been published in a book entitled The Echos From The Silence. Jolene plans to continue writing and hopefully will have more of her poetry published in the years to come. Jolene’s creative writing teacher quotes, “I’ve never met anybody who can write such deep and meaningful literature. Jolene believes in everything she puts down on paper. It’s inspiring.”
