Charlotte Perkins Stetson Gilman (July 3, 1860 – August 17, 1935) was an American poet, short story writer, novelist, journalist and social reformer. Best known for her short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper," an autobiographical work which told of a depressed married woman's futile struggle which ended in madness.
