I am 34 years old and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about a year ago. I have been a prisoner of the mania and depression since I was an adolescent. Poetry was the one thing that I could always rely on to express and examine my emotions. Thus, I have been writing since I was about 13. I am now engaged and have a 2 year old son. It is my hope that perhaps by sharing my works, others might find some degree of peace in their own tumultuous lives.
