Anoushka Swaminathan (they/them) is a queer Indian-American 8th grader from Northern California. They love reading all genres, but primarily write contemporary romance, horror, and sci-fi, as well as poetry. They write to say, 'I am here' in a world that does not often allow that, as well as for fun and to create space for self-reflection, societal change, and escape. Their work has previously been published in Ice Lolly Review, YAWP Journal, and Ink Drinkers Magazine, among others, and received a silver key from the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards in 2023 for a collection of five poems. When not reading or writing- so barely ever- they yearn endlessly, debate anything they can think of, and dream in Technicolor.
