Aadarsh Saren

23 year old Australian University student, cancer survivor, and musician. I’m more of a songwriter than a poet, but sometimes you’re just in the right headspace and it clicks. I’m a big fan of RnB, soulful blues, and old timey kind of tunes, but also huge fan of modern Hip Hop. I know Kendrick Lamar isn’t exactly Shakespeare, but he’s such an inspiration for the style he brings to the table. He’s different, but his lyricism and prose is extremely well arranged, and he’s a great influence on my own style. I think storytelling is a skill as old as we’ve probably been able to speak as a species - though I wouldn’t say it’s our oldest skill (likely stick sharpening or rock throwing). Nevertheless, storytelling is definitely a strong way to connect with others, and I pride myself on trying to do that in my work.
