I write. It’s as simple as that. I write every day, to express emotions, ramble about thoughts, and even bitch about the situations I find myself in.My poetry features pain.My pain is different from everyone else’s, I know that. Everyone expresses it differently, so no one can truly and completely empathize with another person, but I would like you to try. Try to read and understand my pain and understand that love always followed it. Much of my work also revolves around my Family. We have been through hell. There’s no doubt about that. But all phoenixes rise from the ashes of the past. My Family taught me that. I often think of my Family as a pack of wolves, mainly due to my last name. We run together and support each other, and our howls echo the passion that we have as a family unit. My poetry is a work in progress, much like my life. Every piece I write haunts me with a passion, but it’s okay, because that is the signature of a true poet and artist. My writing is my life, and it’s everything that enables me to be me. I am so appreciative that I can write my thoughts, even though sometimes I end up erasing most of them. Like I said, it’s a work in progress. Being a work in progress is not a bad thing, however, it’s the best thing in the world actually, because my poetry gives me the gift of being able to understand and love myself for who I am. And after all, what sweeter thing in the world is there than love?Yours Truly, Kat Wolfe
