The Poets Invocation

Michael Levy 1945 (Manchester)

I am but the leaf upon the vine of life,
In natures care by the grace of spirit,
The wind conveys your becalmed voice into my soul,
It feeds the universal breath of existence in my macrocosm.

May you effect my cause.

I seek your wisdom as my guiding light,
Cultivate my mind with your paradigms,
Strengthen my resolve to your accords,
Fortify my veracity to release my doubts.

May your vision enlighten my eyes.

Sun and moon majestically beam your luminosity,
I Behold elegance and dignity in your expressions,
Help me to transmit them into words,
My time is scarce and knowledge wanting.

May your undiluted truth filter to my hand.

Teach me the rhythm of the cosmos.
The rhymes of a hidden universe.
Channel heavenly poetry into human kind,
Conduct celestial orchestrations to my dancing neurons

May Spirits magnetism nurture my intelligence
