About a girl

Let me tell you about a girl,
Born without her voice,
Trapped inside the lie,
She told without a choice.

Many struggles tore her soul,
As the years stripped her bare,
Loneliness had taken hold,
She learned how not to care.

As life went on there came a point,
Where a life alone was certain,
Friends had come and gone away,
So she faced her final curtain.

Scared and broken, home she ran,
Into the arms of her loving mum,
Trying hard to convince herself,
Life is even worse for some...

E.S. Conway

A poet by proxy of therapy. Her works (with only a couple of exceptions) are comprised of poems written in a form of therapy diary, they served for several years as an aid to dealing with situations that may or may not be within the poems themselves. This is also the reason for so much rhyming; though not necessary for poetry, it was part of what made poetry therapeutic for her and so is an almost certain constant. more…
