The Speed And Ease Of Negativity

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

The speed of ease.
And the quickness to satisfy,
Those tempting urges.
To please impulses,
Served without thought.
Or patiently to contemplate,
The consequences...
Of such actions taken.
Results in excuses heard to make.
And blame to place it,
On others to victimize...
For the minding their own business.

Yet...
Ultimately convinced,
Those accused become.
They had been spending their time,
Selfishly.
Staying away from confusion.
And remaining peaceful and happy.
Although made to feel guilty,
For being responsible.
And accountable for decisions made.
Without sharing their complaints,
With others to compare.

'You know...
People like that,
Get on my last nerve!'

'People like what?'

'The ones always claiming,
To feel great.
Fantastic and wonderful.
Without a dime in their pocket.
And lieing to themselves.
What is the point of complaining?
To anyone.
If they have none of their own,
To share.'

'Maybe...
They choose to remain positive.
To quickly get away,
From those who stay negative.
About everything.'

'And...
That is exactly the reason,
Why the World is as messed up...
Enough as it is!'

'Uh...what?'

'OH, please!
Don't pretend you haven't noticed!
