A Full Empty Home!

Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)

A home that's Full but Empty, how can it be,
I know it's true because it happened to me,
Although love for each other in this home runs high,
It is very seldom shown and I don't know why,
As I grow older, times flies by quicker each day,
It's the absents of intimacy, that I fear will take me away,
I try to make a difference when I come in the door,
But each time I try it hurts a lot more,
My heart is like a bank account that is short on cash,
Without a deposit one day it will simply crash,
There are many here within the walls of this home,
Living in their own worlds never to roam,
I have never understood why this has to be,
When I am not home I am a different me,
I pray that the chance of happiness for a day,
To give me the strength to be strong and stay,
At work, I find a great deal of fun and joy,
When I come home I can't find the girls or boy,
I don't know how much more my heart can stand,
Living in a Full but Empty Home, a very lonely man.
