Lost

Roo 1999 (Mumbai)

Like a child she slept,
on the bed
Innocent kept
But he couldn't see it.

Her body was visible
To him it was a chance
Was he sensible?
Wasn't she just a baby?

He touched her and told
'It was okay! '
Her body was cold
She knew it was not to be spoken of to anyone.

All the joy lay in the chocolate
she got from him
Her life felt trapped in a locket
that was held (hostage) by the uncle.

Is there no one we can trust?
What is it about?
Just the other's lust!
Where is my modesty?

I curse myself whenever I sleep
On my body - the pain
and scars are the ones that I keep
Hide them each day.

Sometimes I ask myself - Who's wrong?
Is it the clothes I wear or the mentality other's bear!
If I weren't weak - I would have been strong
Would it change?
