The Way Out

As I lived that life of being lost
Preoccupied with self-pity and self lies
I became complacent in my own desolate world
Self degraded with downward smiles
And drenched with tears of desperate cries.

In my undefined complacency
My very own life was passing me by
And there was no way that I could see
Beyond my self-embedded flaws.

All of my actions were justified
My lies became my truth
And I was persistently investing my time
In a profitless return
With a pointless cause.

There I stood
Beautifully blemished with blurred eyes
Bewilderly blowing in the wind
As Insanity introduced itself
As an uninvited friend.

My pain spoke without words
As my misery would silently shout
My very own self held me hostage
As God was showing me..
The way out.
