Oh I Regret!

Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)

Life is full of our heart's wants and desires,
When we fail to act on them that starts the old regret fires,
Wants it starts to burning deep within your soul,
The pain never gets easy, it just keeps getting old,
So when thoughts of wants and desires burn within your mind,
Don't fail to act on them or peace you will never find,
The pain of a family member passing away,
Is nowhere near the pain of letting a loved one go astray,
A divorce can be very painful as the loss of a limb,
Is nowhere near as painful as the regret of losing her or him,
You will meet other people in time doing your life,
That person may or may not be your husband or your wife,
But the magic they bring that you can feel deep within the skin,
Will only turn to grief and regret if you fail to give in,
Try to live your life for yourself as fully as you can,
So you won't end up like me saying "Oh I Regret" that man.
