Mother

Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)

Oh, Mother, Mother, so sweet, so kind,
You took care of me so good, so fine,
No other in this world did more for my care,
So my dreams would be realized, somewhere,
You nursed me from the beginning of my life,
Stood by me through more than one wife,
You watched me grow through the good and bad,
Brought cheer into my life when I was sad,
You stayed with me long enough to see,
The treasure of my heart, I named for thee,
Mother, Oh Mother, so young, so brave,
I remember the love for me you always saved,
As I sit here alone in my thoughts and grief,
I thank the Lord, that you found relief.

In memory of my Mother
