Who are we fooling?

Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)

Who are we fooling, this isn’t a game,
You know I like you, and not just your name,
I can’t speak for you, nor know how you feel,
But I can speak for me, and I like your appeal,
The question is just how far we dare go,
The problem is if you don’t tell me, I really don’t know,
Your fine slender body gives not a sign, nor can I read your mind,
My heart says take a risk and see, that you may be good for me,
But what if I am not good for you, oh whoa as me, what will I do,
You see the mess I have gotten us in, fooling ourselves and no one wins.
But in case I am wrong we should not close the door,
Let us leave it open and try some more. (Hee, Hee)
