Someone Else has died

Covid strikes its lethal curse
faster than a five line verse
Worried, stressed, nowhere to hide
The News is relentless
Someone Else has died

Half a million infected in a single day
How do we escape this, is there no way?
Surely someone in Government has lied
I heard in my neighbourhood
someone Else has died

What does it feel like when its a stranger
Does it make you feel the danger?
Does the hurt and grief remain
When it is someone else's pain?
We say "How Sad!" and Carry on
and all at once all care is gone
The worry stays with only a few
that tomorrow that someone could be you

Stay Safe, Take care, avoid the grim reaper
we are after all our brothers keeper
We will intime defeat this curse
And though Stay home seems very terse
Follow the advice and we will turn the tide
And in time we'll hear
Noone Else has Died
