Consistently uncertain

Samantha Tudor 1989 (Missouri)

Without the rainbow would there be any rain?
A life of insanity will eventually drive us sane.
Knowing nothing but pain will soon turn to pleasure,
And a rich man is still broke despite all of his treasure.
Uncertainty in life is the only thing that is certain,
Things are exactly as they appear until you look behind the curtain.
In despite the depths of one soul we are still shallow in life,
Although we have paid in full we still owe a price.
Nothing is ever finished, but what is done is done,
And we continue to fight a battle that's already been won.
There was no love lost, but there was never any to be found,
The sky is the limit but we never leave the ground.
In death are we reborn and at birth we die
We are taught to trust, when our teachers tell lies.
The only thing consistent is inconsistency,
Through our eyes we are blind, but if we open our minds we can see.
