In the night As one

Mark Cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

Of all that came
Of what was last
Came first before us
And as we laughed
We entered the day
In an hour after
The morning had past
And as the sun struck us
Overhead directly
In the light of the day
Shadows scattered
Before we left
And then we entered
The night in an hour
As the moon passed
And as its led
Us to a new moon
Full of nights
Of images and lights
The shadows became one
In an hour when the moon
Was in full view
Of a truth spoken
In the night As one
