jealousy

shade wilson III 1963 (Illinois)

You say that I'm jealous? Let me tell
you how much.
I could strangle the wind, for blowing
ever so softly through your hair.
I could eclipse the sun, for beading its
warmth upon your skin.
I could dissipate the rain, for dropping so gently onto your sweet face.
I could melt the driven snow, for daring
to cause  a shiver of your precious body.
I could eliminate the very air, for engul-fing the breath you take.
I could crush the ground, for embrac-
ing your every step.
I could stop all time, for bringing a
moment of age to your life.
I could remove mankind, for complete
autonomy with you.
These things could I do, and more...so
much is my jealousy for you.
