Awakened by the sun

Mark Cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

Awakened by the sun
To fall like a star asleep
To be covered in the cloth of the moon
In a return that comes soon
And as the day awakes
The night blinds the minds
To the truth so soon
As we cover the moon
With words of endless truth
And we go into the night
In space and time
As we enter a world
Both known and unknown
And as the light breaks
Open and closes the day
Wide of the night
As stars rise in the eyes
Of all who knew
But those unknown
In regions and legions
Are as a world of light
Which is both above and below
And it is just as we were told
