Before the moon fades

Mark Cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

The lights fall like rain
And cleanse the day
Before the moon fades
And the clouds part
It then returns in nights
As the day passes by
And the light resides
In the eye of the beholder
Before the beautiful blue sky
As stars fall at night
Shooting out light
As the darkness covers
The skyline of the night
Before the day again rises
And then one arises
To a morning sun
And the light greets them
Like a child born in an hour
That comes before the earth
Like a heaven unknown
Where those go to
In an hour That comes
And passes without warning
