Sit with Me

Place a bench upon your ground, saying “Loved ones visit here.”
Let us feel the calming peace, for those they still hold dear
Let them share in all our sorrows, our sadness, and our tears
Let them share in joy and laughter, in forgetting all our fears
Sit with me awhile, even though it may not last
We’ll talk about the good times, the future and the past
For though we may not see them, and their stay is not too long
We hear them in the wind and the birds that sing their song
