my confession

Oyiza 2006 (Melk)

Oh Lord will they forgive me?
will you forgive me?
for being a thief who stole a poor boy's heart
and never gave it back
I know that stealing is a sin but I was addicted to vengeance
but now I understand that he did not deserve my vengeance
he did not deserve to suffer my wickedness
my foolishness
my hate
he deserved my love.
but I do not exactly feel guilty
does this make me a bad person? maybe

you see, he is a villain too
a drunkard attached to lover's potion and charm
thought he could make me his bride if he soothed the pain I never had a chance to heal from
now I am left in denial
for I did not see that the man I have so much sympathy for resembles the man who first hurt me
they both made me out to be the villain
the disgusting female
the "jezebel"
the harlot
the witch
but I am just a girl.
lonely but desperately trying to love
show me the way oh Lord
heal me oh Lord
I try to do good but my body has been pried into by greedy men who's thirst cannot be quenched
and I will take my revenge for that
I have to
for the sake of all the girls after me
forgive me Father, for I have sinned.
